Duties and Responsibilities:
Mental health counselors offer guidance to individuals, couples, families and groups who are dealing with issues that affect their mental health and well-being. Many counselors approach their work holistically, using a “wellness” model (as opposed to an “illness” one) which highlights and encourages client’s strengths.
Salary: $28,598 - $56,357 per year
Education:
Earn a Bachelor Degree - 4 years, Masters Degree - 5-6 years, Earn a Doctorate Degree 7-8 years

To be successful as a Mental Health Counselor, you should find it easy to connect with people and constructively discuss their problems and issues. Excellent written and verbal communications skills and an analytical approach will serve you well in Mental Health Counseling.
