What this quote talks about is talking about choosing. No matter what side we choose it will affect the future. If it's good then it could be bad. If it's wrong then it could be good. For example Donald Trump. In his opinion he thinks that it is good to get rid of illegals. If he does get rid of them then there will be more jobs and houses open. The bad side to it is that the economy will fall. There will be less money since illegals work in many jobs. Whichever choices we make will affect the future. That's why many movies about time traveling say if you choose  something in the past it will affect the future.
